Zoutmeren Torrevieja

De Salinas van Torrevieja en La Mata zijn natuurparken gelegen ten noorden van de Spaanse havenstad Torrevieja. Zoutproductie en visserij zijn al eeuwenlang een belangrijke inkomstenbron voor de inwoners van Torrevieja, naast het toerisme, dat eind vorige eeuw sterk toenam. Tot halverwege de 20e eeuw was zoutwinning de belangrijkste inkomensbron van de stad Torrevieja.

Het meer dankt zijn roze kleur aan algen en bacteriën, die hier groeien door het hoge zoutgehalte van het water. Wanneer je de meren bezoekt, krijg je een surreële ervaring, omdat het water er roze is. Door het enorme zoutgehalte in het water blijf je hier ook drijven, wat heel bijzonder is om mee te maken. De modder van het meer schijnt een geneeskrachtige werking te hebben, Een échte droomplek.

Nothing special. White and dirty gray salt. Big “lake” a trip there was made by small train. One hour trip which... contains 20 min photo time near the lake and 15 min at the tourist shop ( different kind of salt products.lees meer

Useless visiting in this place. We going there by mini train 🚂 and there we sow lakes where was nothing else and then... lot of salt! You can watch the pictures here and save money and time and no need to travel that place. No recommend.lees meer

Las Salinas de Torrevieja is one of the most impressive natural parks of Valencia and is located nearby another water... reserve known as the Laguna de la Mata. Las Salinas de Torrevieja spreads across 1,400 hectares and is separated from the Laguna de la Mata by an anticline (a formation of stratified rock raised up) called the Chaparral, but both are connected to the ocean through a canal known as Acequión. This canal was created for the purpose of obtaining salt from the ocean in the 13th century. As a legacy of its past, there are huge mountains of salt piled high along theThis natural space offers a list of some amazing species of flora, although there is not much vegetation in the area due to the high levels of salinity in the water. Only a few plants such as alacranera (Arthrocnemum macrostachyum) and different types of juncus, suaedas, salicornas and salsolas could survive in this highly salty water environment. When the time of flowering comes to Las Salinas, it is possible to see a rare show of saladillas (lavender), groundsel and even the complex but showy shaped orchids (collina) in full bloom. Took the tourist train from opposite the fountain. Last one hour. Excellent commentary in Spanish and English. Takes... you right to the heart of works and there is even a small salt hill to climb. Good valuelees meer
